The Submission Agreement, sometimes called a Submission Release, is used when a producer wants to read and consider written material such as a script from a writer or owner.  Producers should not read unsolicited material and if the materials are being submitted, have a submission release signed before accepting the materials.

Ladies and Gentlemen:

I am submitting to you herewith certain material described as a [feature film motion picture]/[television pilot] script currently titled “____________”, which script is written, owned and controlled by me.

I understand that you have adopted the policy of refusing to accept, consider or evaluate unsolicited material unless the person submitting such material has signed this agreement in the form set forth herein.  In consideration of your examining said material, I hereby represent, warrant, acknowledge and agree as follows:

1.         I specifically acknowledge that you would refuse to accept consider or otherwise evaluate my material in the absence of my acceptance of each and all of the provisions of this agreement.  It is understood that no confidential relationship is established by my submitting the material to you hereunder.  I shall retain all rights to submit this or similar material to personnel other than you.
